Third Annual Residential Summit Focuses on Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence and its role in the residential construction industry was the main topic of the 2022 Residential Summit, hosted by the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management. The biannual event, which took place for the third time Sept. 23, 2022, inside the Florida Room of the Stephen C. O’Connell Center, featured University of Florida students learning from and networking with dozens of UF alumni currently working in the residential industry.

DCP Breaks Ground on Bruno E. and Maritza F. Ramos Collaboratory

The University of Florida College of Design, Construction and Planning (DCP) announced Thursday, October 6, a new 50,000-square foot facility named the Bruno E. and Maritza F. Ramos Collaboratory. Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony Takes Place for The John and Anne Sofarelli Family Gallery

University of Florida College of Design, Construction and Planning Dean Chimay Anumba formally announced the DCP Gallery has been renamed the John and Anne Sofarelli Family Gallery. A public ribbon-cutting ceremony took place April 15, 2022, at the School of Architecture Building featuring the Sofarelli family, faculty, students, staff and friends of the program.

Firefighter Advances His Career in Fire & Emergency Services via FES Program and DCP

While working in fire and emergency services for several years, 38-year-old Brian Canaday decided to pursue a four-year degree to further his education and advance his career. Growing up with love and admiration for the Florida Gators, he fulfilled his dream of becoming one himself via UF Online—the #1 online program for his degree. Blinn, Desai and Plunkett Named University of Florida Outstanding Young Alumni

University of Florida College of Design, Construction and Planning alumni Nathan Blinn (MSCM ’15, Ph.D. ‘18), Ekta Desai (BDES ’08) and Nicole Plunkett (BLAE ‘10) were three of a select group of UF graduates selected to this year’s prominent “40 Gators Under 40.” The three recipients tie for the most DCP has ever had.
