Undergraduate Construction Management Certificate

This certificate program is offered through the Rinker School of Construction Management, College of Design Construction and Planning, University of Florida. The program, which is intended for senior students in construction-related programs who are enrolled in universities other than the University of Florida, is a 1-semester program wherein students complete four courses (12 credits).

Completed applications must be received by October 1st for admission to the Spring program and by May 1st for admission to the Fall program.

Admission Requirements

  1. Must be a senior enrolled in a recognized undergraduate degree program in a construction related program.
  2. Must have demonstrated English communication skills.
  3. Students from non-exempt countries must demonstrate proficiency in English by providing TOEFL and or TSE scores.

Certificate Completion Requirements

Students interested in completing the certificate program and continuing into Master of Construction Management (MCM) or Master of Science in Construction Management (MSCM) programs

Complete four of the following courses with a combined grade point average of 2.5 or better. The semester credit hours and semesters offered are indicated. Courses with suffix ‘C’ have a laboratory component. Courses marked with (*) have to be completed for the master’s degree. Only courses with a grade of C or better will be accepted for credit toward a master’s degree.

Admission to the MCM/MSCM can only be given to students who obtain a minimum score of 300 (verbal + quantitative) on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and complete their undergraduate degree in a construction-related program. Students are therefore strongly advised to complete the GRE prior to beginning their studies at the Rinker School. MCM has no thesis requirement whereas MSCM has a thesis requirement.

Students interested in just completing the certificate program.
Students interested in just completing the one-semester certificate program and entering the construction industry are not required to take the GRE exam or 5000 level courses. Students will be awarded the certificate if they complete four courses from the list below with a combined grade point average of 2.5 or better. The semester credit hours and semesters offered are indicated. Courses with suffix ‘C’ have a laboratory component.
