Bartow High School ACE Academy Visits Rinker For Annual Tour

As it does every year, the University of Florida College of Design, Construction and Planning hosted the Bartow Academy of Architecture, Construction, and Engineering (ACE) Nov. 4 at the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management. Sponsored by Polk County Public Schools, the ACE Academy focuses its educational efforts on the teaching and interconnectivity between architectural drafting, construction management and electrical engineering. More than 45 students from Bartow High School were able to learn, connect and network with several DCP faculty members and staff.

Rinker Adds Three to Legendary Construction Hall of Fame

Dave Schmit (BBC ’83, MSBC ’83), Rob Springer (BBC ’84) and the late Dr. Charles Kibert were inducted into the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management Hall of Fame Oct. 8 on the campus of the University of Florida. The Hall of Fame honors those who have truly distinguished themselves in the construction profession.

Rinker Associate Professor Emeritus Jack Martin Passes Away

The University of Florida College of Design, Construction and Planning mourns the loss of one of its former faculty members: Jack Martin, retired Associate Professor Emeritus of the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management and a distinguished veteran and retired Colonel of the U.S. Army. Martin passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022. He was 93.

Distinguished Veteran and CEO Alumnus Inducted into Rinker Hall of Fame

Col. Jack W. Martin and Wayne S. McCall were inducted into the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management Hall of Fame this past Saturday on the campus of the University of Florida. The Hall of Fame honors those who have truly distinguished themselves in the construction profession.
