University of Florida M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management Distinguished Professor Raymond Issa was recently elected vice president of the Pan American Federation of Engineers (UPADI), the organization announced recently. Issa is also the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) member representing the United States.
“In my role as UPADI representative, I have participated as an advisor to the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Ministers of Science and Higher Learning of the Americas on the Human Resources, Training and Education Committee sponsored by the OAS Section of Competitiveness, Innovation and Technology,” Issa said.
Abbreviated from its Spanish name of the Unión Panamericana de Asociaciones de Ingenieros, UPADI represents 31 engineering organizations from 27 countries throughout the Americas and the Caribbean with a cumulative membership of over three million engineers. Its mission is to actively contribute to economic and social development in areas related to engineering
