Rinker Career Fair Celebrates 25th Anniversary

The University of Florida M. E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management hosted its 25th annual Fall Career Fair on Thursday, September 14 in Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. Rinker School students had the opportunity to speak with and get recruited by 109 construction companies. With the fair’s 100 percent job placement, it’s clear that UF students are in demand.

Robotic Construction and Sustainability Themes of 2023 DCP Residential Summit

University of Florida students from a variety of disciplines in the built environment descended upon the Stephen C. O’Connell Center Wednesday afternoon to learn more about the current trends in residential building construction. The main topics of the two-hour session, which was also attended by several prominent members of the residential industry, centered around robotic construction and sustainability in new homes.

Action Equipment Named Top Gator-Owned Business; 22 DCP Businesses Recognized

Led by No. 1 Action Equipment, the University of Florida College of Design, Construction and Planning placed 22 alumni-owned companies on the 2023 Gator100, the UF Alumni Association announced Friday. Those who made the list, which recognizes the 100 fastest-growing Gator-owned or Gator-led businesses in the world, were honored in a ceremony inside the Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center.

Bartow High School ACE Academy Visits Rinker For Annual Tour

As it does every year, the University of Florida College of Design, Construction and Planning hosted the Bartow Academy of Architecture, Construction, and Engineering (ACE) Nov. 4 at the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management. Sponsored by Polk County Public Schools, the ACE Academy focuses its educational efforts on the teaching and interconnectivity between architectural drafting, construction management and electrical engineering. More than 45 students from Bartow High School were able to learn, connect and network with several DCP faculty members and staff.

DCP Breaks Ground on Bruno E. and Maritza F. Ramos Collaboratory

The University of Florida College of Design, Construction and Planning (DCP) announced Thursday, October 6, a new 50,000-square foot facility named the Bruno E. and Maritza F. Ramos Collaboratory. This revolutionary, best-in-class facility is intended to bring generational change to UF and will position the College, its faculty, staff and students for success over the next 100 years.

Rinker Career Fair Boasts Record-High 116 Companies

The annual M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management Fall Career Fair was one for the books this year. In the past, the career fair has taken place on the floor level of the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. This year, there were so many companies at the fair, the venue had to utilize the Tom and Jane Johnson Family Atrium in addition to the main floor level just to accommodate everyone. With a record-high 116 companies, Rinker students had the opportunity of a lifetime to speak with so many great companies.
