The University of Florida College of Design, Construction and Planning is mourning the loss of one of its faculty: Dr. Charles Kibert, Holland Professor in the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management and Director of the Powell Center for Construction and Environment. Kibert passed away on Monday, Jan. 25. He was 73.

The University of Florida’s Donald R. Dizney Stadium’s locker room facility on UF’s campus is the first building in Florida to be LEED certified by students and just the 11th globally.

Morteza “Mori” Hosseini, along with Jon and Ron Antevy, were inducted into the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management Hall of Fame this past Saturday on the campus of the University of Florida. The Hall of Fame honors those who have truly distinguished themselves in the construction profession.

University of Florida College of Design, Construction and Planning Professor and Dean Dr. Chimay Anumba has been inducted into the National Academy of Construction (NAC). The NAC honors and recognizes those individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the construction industry.

Marcus “Jason” Thompson is a 2018 University of Florida College of Design, Construction and Planning graduate who earned a degree in fire and emergency services with a specialization in emergency management. Currently, Thompson is a Senior Investigating Officer in the United States Coast Guard.
