With a legacy of innovation since 1935, our program is the oldest continuing building construction program in the U.S. We pioneered the first Master’s degree in construction management in 1948, setting a standard of excellence that drives our curriculum today.

Our Master’s Degree Types

Master of Construction Management (MCM)

Non-Thesis Option: 30* Credits of Coursework Only!

Master of Science in Construction Management (MSCM)

Thesis Option: 24* Credits of Coursework + 6 Credits of Research

* Students from non-construction backgrounds are required to take an additional 6 credits of leveling courses: Fundamentals of Building Construction I (3 credits) and Fundamentals of Building Construction II (3 credits)

Application Requirements

  • A two-page statement of purpose
  • A current CV
  • Three letters of recommendation

Bachelor’s Degree Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum upper-division GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Transcripts + Bachelor’s degree certificate

English Proficiency Requirements*

  • IELTS Academic ≥ 6.5
    • Minimum of 6.5 in each section
  • TOEFL iBT ≥ 84
    • Minimum of 21 in each section

Graduate Record Examination (GRE)*

  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is not required.

* UF’s TOEFL school code is 5812.

Funding Opportunities

Fully-Funded Research and Teaching Assistantships: We offer fully-funded teaching and research assistantships that provide financial support and valuable experience to enhance your academic and career development. Students admitted to our Master’s programs will be automatically considered for these assistantships.

Internal Scholarships and Financial Support: Each year, we offer several internal scholarships and financial support opportunities. These scholarships are available to students after they begin their studies at the Rinker School and can help cover some educational expenses.
