A total of 13 faculty and students from the University of Florida College of Design, Construction and Planning were celebrated as UF Innovators of the Year this past Wednesday at the 2023 Innovation Showcase event hosted by UF Innovate & Tech Licensing. The DCP honorees were celebrated as innovators who are changing the world.
“The number of innovators from DCP is a testament to our vision of shaping the world we live in,” DCP Dean Chimay Anumba said. “We are delighted for their continued success in these projects and look forward to their future research.”
One of the DCP faculty members on hand to share about DCP’s innovations was Department of Interior Design Assistant Professor Lisa Platt, who spoke to attendees about DCP’s new Sustainable Adaptive Material Practicum Lab.
This year marked the sixth year UF honored innovators who have disclosed, licensed, or optioned a technology in the fiscal year just ended. In addition, it was the first year UF added innovators who have received an issued U.S. patent to our honoree list.
