The UF team sits in their winning design after participating in a design-build competition between UF and FIU. The competition for a “Pop-Up Park” was held in front of the Florida ASLA conference hotel during the annual awards ceremony last August.
Last year, SCASLA transformed three metered parking spaces into a temporary park to celebrate PARK(ing) Day, a global event aiming to recognize the need for more urban open spaces. The student chapter plans to participate in the event again this year.
