The University of Florida held its inaugural Stand Up & Holler: Gator Nation Giving Day. The goal was to receive 5,000 gifts of at least one dollar. The Gator Nation wound up smashing that goal with a total of 11,535 gifts that raised more than $12.6 million.
DCP contributed to UF’s total with 175 gifts, good enough for 19th overall. The $244,803.77 given by DCP alums was the sixth highest dollar amount on campus for the day!
DCP’s biggest gift of the day came from Gainesville’s own Charles Perry Partners, Inc. (CPPI). This construction management firm, founded in 1968, has long-time ties to the university and our college.
“Five of our six CPPI stockholders are UF Rinker graduates (Breck Weingart, Brian Leslie, Matt Webster, Jason Morgan and Vincent Moreschi),” said Breck Weingart, CPPI Chairman/Principal. “Following the lead of our company’s founder, Chuck Perry, we understand how important it is to give back to the communities and organizations we serve.”
“Without the education we received at the University of Florida, we would not be in a position to give back to support initiatives in the Rinker School of Construction Management. Go Gators!” Weingart added.
Our college is grateful that the CPPI leadership team chose DCP’s Rinker School for their education and continue to add value to it with their gift.
“We deeply value our strong relationship with CPPI and are delighted that they are able to support us in this way,” DCP Dean Chimay Anumba. “It will go a long way towards helping us to enhance our programs.”
