Celebrating homecoming at DCP

The College of Design, Construction and Planning’s homecoming festivities kicked off last Friday at the UF Parade with the first-ever college-wide float, designed and built by students across DCP’s different disciplines. Within two weeks of planning and preparation, students collaborated on the final design and built the wooden structure, which towered over the streets of Gainesville during the homecoming parade.

On Saturday morning, the M.E. Rinker Sr., School of Construction Management held its annual Construction Hall of Fame, inducting BCN alumni John Sofarelli and David Brandon.

After the ceremony, more than 200 DCP alumni and friends had lunch on the lawn, played games in the atrium and enjoyed the rest of the day until the Gators took on the Missouri Tigers in The Swamp, where they won with a final score of 40 to 14… Go Gators!
