On October 5, DCP alumnus Howard Nelson officially opened the Howard and Gayle Nelson Studio and Seminar Room.
After Nelson cut the ribbon, everyone entered the studio to learn more about how the renovated space is being used. Urban and regional planning students demonstrated the technology, showing how four devices can show their displays at one time on the large screen at the front of the studio. This allows students to easily collaborate on multiple projects or aspects of the same project without the need to crowd around individual computers.
The technology also allows online students to work in partnership with on-campus students. In addition, professionals serving as guest lecturers or jurors can connect virtually and provide feedback on projects.
