About the Opportunity
We are seeking students currently enrolled in an accredited Urban/City Planning Master’s degree program to join us in Orlando, Florida for our Summer 2026 Get Inspired Internship program.
The internship is 40 hours a week and is tentatively scheduled from May or June 2026 until August 2026. To maximize your internship experience, you will be expected to be in the office for most of the program.
What You’ll Do
As a Summer 2026 Master’s Urban Planning Intern, you’ll make a meaningful impact by:
· Actively participating in community engagement events to assist communities with environmental, social, and economic challenges.
· Collecting and evaluating data from field investigations and sources, including censuses, market research, and environmental studies.
· Utilizing Geographic Information System (GIS) software to incorporate spatial data into comprehensive, digital maps.
· Reviewing and evaluating site plans submitted by developers and making recommendations on adjustments or approvals.
· Interpreting government policies, including zoning laws, building codes, and environmental regulations.
· Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams across the organization.
· Completing additional duties as assigned. Some travel may be required depending on assignments.
Skills and Abilities
· Microsoft Office Suite experience. Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) experience is a plus.
· Comfortable using team collaboration and communications platforms, particularly Microsoft Teams.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Dedication to learning new skills, programs, and processes.
· Organized, innovative, and ambitious.
Minimum Requirements
· Currently enrolled in an accredited Urban/City Planning Master’s degree program.
Preferred Qualifications
· GIS experience.
· Adobe CC experience.
