The Horticulture Intern will learn and apply horticultural techniques while working one-on-one with the Landscape & Garden Coordinator in order to preserve and maintain the beauty and health of the Harn Museum’s garden spaces. The selected candidate will receive a paid stipend.

Specific Duties: Intern will assist the Landscape & Garden Coordinator with routine garden maintenance including nutrition, pruning and insect and disease control of plants in the interior gardens and on museum grounds. Intern will also assist with maintenance of the museum’s water features.

Hours per week: 8 – 10 hours

Qualifications: • Available 8 – 10 hours per week, Monday-Friday 8 am – 5 pm.

On occasion, this project may require outside research, which shall be included in the expected 8-10 hours each week.

• Strong interest in horticulture and landscape design, as well as outdoor and indoor spaces belonging to an art museum.

• Landscape architecture and horticulture coursework or experience preferred.

• Individual must be highly motivated, organized and eager to learn.
