The Construction Estimator develops estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor cost, and other typical periphery costs associated with construction of multi-family residential housing. Customary tasks include making an initial site visit to assess topography and utilities, identify and meet with potential subcontractors in proximity to site. Compile scopes of work based on plans. Compile final construction budgets, oversee the award of subcontracts and the preparation of AIA subcontracts.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management construction science, engineering, architecture, or related field from an accredited university required
3-5 Years’ experience estimating in construction/building industry
Other combinations of experience and education deemed suitable to encompass necessary body of knowledge and technical skills
Working hours may vary, but customary schedule is Monday – Friday between 7:30 am-5:00pm, with a one-hour lunch break; and regular attendance/punctuality are required to maintain efficient operations and provide high quality services. Nature of duties requires some early morning, late night and weekend hours. Must have a high degree of reliability, ability to work independently, and inspire trust and work well with others without conflict. Some work from home may be available with manager approval.
