Biography

Dr. In Bae Chung is joining the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2026. Prior to joining Rinker, he earned his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin and worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Construction Industry Institute (CII).

Dr. Chung’s research focuses on improving project performance through data analytics, benchmarking, and risk-informed decision-making. His work advances collaborative risk management in construction projects by developing frameworks and methodologies that enhance how stakeholders collectively identify, assess, and quantify project risks. In addition, he has contributed to industry-wide efforts to evaluate the implementation of best practices and quantify their impact on project performance, enabling organizations to benchmark against peers and identify targeted areas for improvement.

His broader research interests lie at the intersection of construction management and emerging technologies. Through his research and teaching, Dr. Chung aims to bridge the gap between academic innovation and industry practice, equipping future professionals with the skills and knowledge to manage complex projects in an increasingly data-driven environment.
