About the Studio:
Reinaldo Correa Studio is a multidisciplinary public art and design studio known for pushing the boundaries of art, architecture, and fabrication. We specialize in large-scale sculptural installations, interactive environments, and storytelling through spatial experiences. This position is ideal for emerging professionals who want to gain real-world experience at the intersection of conceptual design and hands-on making.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Intern Designer & Artist Assistant with any of the following backgrounds: Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Industrial Design, or Mechanical Engineering. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker who is equally comfortable working in digital environments and in the shop. This role blends design work with design-build execution, contributing to the development and fabrication of public art and spatial installations.

Compensation will be based on experience and skill level.

Responsibilities:

Develop 3D models and digital prototypes using Rhino 3D & Grasshopper
Prepare shop drawings, laser cutting files, and 3D print setups
Participate in hands-on fabrication and prototyping, including model assembly, finishing, and light construction
Support material research, documentation, and sourcing
Assist with project presentations, renderings, and visual communication
Maintain an organized, safe, and creative workshop/studio environment

Required Qualifications:

Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Industrial Design, or Mechanical Engineering
Proficiency in Rhino 3D (Grasshopper knowledge a plus)
Experience with 3D printing, laser cutting, and digital-to-physical workflows
Ability to interpret and create fabrication drawings and production files
Hands-on making skills and interest in design-build processes
Self-motivated, collaborative, and eager to learn

Preferred Skills (Not Required but a Plus):

Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
Familiarity with CNC routing, woodworking, or minor metal fabrication
Rendering skills using tools like KeyShot, V-Ray, or Enscape
Experience with physical model making and materials exploration
