A little over a year after Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico, the University of Florida has emerged as a leader in research and scholarship focused on rebuilding. UF is uniquely positioned because of its geography and Florida’s familiarity with Puerto Rico’s context when it comes to climate, tropical issues and Hispanic culture. On Jan. 16 at 6 p.m. in the Pugh Hall Ocora, architecture professors Martha Kohen and Nancy Clark, who have spearheaded this international effort will discuss UF’s work and collaborations aimed at helping the island imagine a more resilient future.
