Announcing Kyle Dost, AICP, as Incoming MURP Online Program Director and Instructional Assistant Professor

Kyle Dost, AICP, will be continuing his journey in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning as MURP Online Program Director and Instructional Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2023. He has served as the MURP online Associate Program Director since 2018.
Stepping into this new role, Kyle is excited about the ability to engage with students in both a broader and deeper capacity. He will continue to teach his undergraduate course URP 3001, Cities of the World, in addition to new courses beginning academic year 2024-2025. He strives to grow the MURP online program in a way that benefits students and reflects their diverse appetites, engages the best instructors and faculty, and furthers the department’s preeminence in online planning education.

Kyle earned his bachelor’s degree in Environmental Policy and Planning from Virginia Tech and is an alumnus of the URP department’s MURP program. His time in the MURP program helped solidify his passion for planning, specifically through the lenses of international engagement, environmental planning, and water resource management. Kyle recently began his doctoral studies in the College of Design, Construction and Planning where he aims to focus on the role of blue/green space on community wellbeing.
Kyle shares his time between being on-campus in Gainesville and his home in St. Petersburg, Florida. He will continue to serve the Tampa Bay planning community by serving on the APA Sun Coast executive board as professional development officer. He looks forward to bridging connections between Gainesville and Tampa Bay, including student internships, job opportunities, and alumni engagement.
