About the Department of Urban and Regional Planning
The UF Department of Urban and Regional Planning (URP) was established in 1975, and its campus-based Master of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) program was first accredited in 1978. Over the years, URP has added a variety of programs for undergraduate and graduate students.
URP continues to lead planning education and research with the co-creation of the School of Landscape Architecture and Planning in 2009 and the addition of an online MURP delivery option in 2012 – the first and only PAB-accredited online MURP program in the nation. More recently, Planetizen ranked our program 23rd in the nation and fifth in the Southeast in its 2017 list of the top planning schools.
