The mission of the M. E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management is to be the center of excellence for construction.

What is Construction Management?

Construction management is the planning, coordination, and supervision of a project from beginning to completion. The core curriculum focuses on understanding the construction management process through a foundation of technical, managerial, and business courses. The Rinker School of Construction Management prepares students with the professional capabilities to plan, direct, and coordinate activities involved with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.

Application Information

The UF Office of Admissions reviews freshman admission applications. Admitted freshman applicants can declare Construction Management as his or her major.

Application Deadline: November 1st

The College of Design, Construction & Planning reviews
transfer applications. Students who have earned an AA degree or at least 60 credit hours may apply for transfer admissions. Transfer applicants are considered on a space available basis.

The Rinker School only admits transfer students from select Florida state colleges. Select one of the below colleges to display its requirements and prerequisites. If your college is not listed, please contact the Rinker School for additional information on how to transfer into our upper-division degree program.

Career Paths

Estimator

Quantify the materials, labor, and equipment needed to complete a construction project.

Office Engineer

Provides assistance to project managers and supervises office engineering construction.

Field Engineer

Field engineering requires highly skilled and technical professionals who oversee large construction projects.

BIM and VDC

BIM involves 3D modeling to improve the way projects are designed, constructed, and operated. VDC uses the BIM models to plan the construction process from beginning to end.

Assistant Superintendent

Monitor daily activities and compile reports on progress, compliance, and obstacles. Inspect completed and in-progress structures and sites for safety and compliance.

Assistant Project Manager

Coordinate the activities of a project to ensure cost, schedule, document control, and quality standards are met.
