BIO

Sofia is a practicing transportation planner with over 5 years of experience in the private sector. Her planning work focuses on public transit, aiming to maximize transit system efficiency and accessibility for all users. Sofia uses data-driven methods to analyze current and future conditions to support planning initiatives. She holds bachelor’s degrees in geography and sustainability, as well as a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Florida. In 2020, she earned a Master of Leadership for Sustainability from Malmo University. Finally, Sofia is passionate about teaching geographic information systems in an approachable and practical manner, focusing on the “why” of spatial processes as much as the “how-to”.
