Kyle Dost elected to APA FL Sun Coast executive committee as Professional Development Officer

UF URP’s Kyle Dost was recently elected to the APA Florida Sun Coast section’s executive committee as a Professional Development Officer. The role is a 2-year term and one of 11 positions on the executive committee. 

“I’m excited to engage with local planners, students, and allied professionals in the Tampa Bay area,” Kyle shared. “There are so many fantastic planning projects and planners around Tampa Bay, and I’m looking forward to deeper involvement and collaboration.” As Professional Development Officer, Kyle will assist in sharing planning openings, connecting emerging professionals with internships and positions, and holding informational sessions about the new AICP One Path process. The Sun Coast section also shares a variety of Continuing Maintenance (CM) credit events – ongoing educational opportunities required for AICP-certified planners. 

The American Planning Association (APA) has both state chapters and local sections aimed at providing professional development, mentoring, networking, and opportunity-sharing. The APA Sun Coast section spans Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, and Sarasota counties. It is the largest section in Florida by membership.
