The Department of Urban and Regional Planning’s Advisory Council has named Zachary Shrader, AICP, as its new Chair. An alumnus of the MURP online program and member of the Advisory Council since 2020, Shrader succeeds previous Chair Jarrell Smith, AICP, and will work closely with department leadership to lead future Council initiatives.
“It’s an honor to serve on the Advisory Council with other talented and diverse planning professionals who are committed to supporting UF’s planning program and the next generation of Gator planners,” said Shrader. “We have a lot of exciting initiatives that we’ll be working on this year and I’m looking forward to connecting with our students.”
Other recent additions to the Advisory Council include: Adam Carr, AICP; Leilei Duan; Monet Moore; Kristen Nowicki, AICP; and Adrian Santiago, AICP.
The Advisory Council is currently assisting with the department’s reaccreditation efforts, building regional alumni networking groups, mentoring students, and working on the department’s upcoming Planning and Research Conference. These efforts provide the department with invaluable insight and better prepare students to be successful planning practitioners.
Current members of the Council include alumni and experienced planning professionals working in transportation planning, development management, natural resource planning, affordable housing, and more.
