Possible Tracks
There are three tracks available for the Master of Interior Design (MID):
This track is for students who hold a baccalaureate degree in a program set within an architectural framework, preferably an interior design program accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA). The course of study is estimated to be 36 graduate credit hours. Students should expect to complete the MID in two years.
Designed for students with a bachelor’s degree in a field other than design. This track includes up to 43 credit hours of leveling coursework in addition to the 33 credit hours required for the MID, for a total of up to 76 credit hours. Students typically complete this track in three to three and a half years.
Open to students enrolled in UF’s Bachelor of Design program. This track allows students to apply 9 hours of graduate-level coursework completed during their senior year toward both their undergraduate and graduate degrees. Students must request authorization from the Graduate School by the end of their junior year and submit a formal application to the MID program. An additional 24 graduate credit hours are required after the senior year. Students typically complete the MID with one additional year of study.
