The Certificate honors students who have displayed academic excellence and who are dedicated to advancing the global citizenship mindset put forth by the Center.
“I am very grateful to receive this recognition from the UF International Center,” said Hu. “As an international student, studying abroad has been a meaningful opportunity for learning, exchange, and personal growth, while also involving many challenges along the way. This award is especially meaningful to me because it reflects the support and opportunities I have received at UF, recognizes the efforts of international students, and affirms the value of international perspectives in teaching, research, and academic community building. I am especially thankful to my department, college, mentors, colleagues, and family for their continued support.”
Hu previously worked as a graduate assistant with the department and conducts research alongside multiple faculty members. Her research examines how outdoor environments support health and well-being, with a focus on older adults, green spaces, streetscape design, and evidence-based landscape design.
