Alumni Updates
Since graduating this past May with their Masters in Historic Preservation, Rae Shropshire and Drew Johnson have been employed as Architectural Historians with Terracon Consultants in Jacksonville. So far, their work has mainly involved assisting on National Register Nominations, conducting neighborhood surveys, and participating in cemetery restoration projects.
Their latest survey took place in Quincy, Florida, where they worked on surveying a historically black neighborhood with the goal of potentially designating it as a historic district. They have been actively involved in restoring headstones and unearthing cradle graves in Jacksonville’s Old City Cemetery.
