EVENTS

Urban Futures Returns: FIBER Launches 2026 Call for Participation

Building on the success of its inaugural year, the FIBER is proud to announce the launch of Urban Futures: Urban Development at the Edge, a 2026 call for participation in Florida cities and towns facing challenges related to resilience, redevelopment, and sustainable growth. The 2026 edition of Urban Futures deepens this commitment by focusing specifically on communities with Opportunity Zones (OZ) or more generally areas in need of redevelopment, exploring how design-driven research can support resilient revitalization and long-term community resilience. The event is supported by Duke Energy Foundation.

Housing Resilience 2025

On April 10, the FAMU SAET in partnership with the University of Florida’s Florida Institute for Built Environment Resilience (FIBER) will host a Housing Resilience Roundtable, an engaging forum dedicated to addressing the challenges of urban growth, natural hazards, and housing resilience. Supported by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), this event brings together experts and community leaders to share insights and imagine innovative paths forward. We welcome students, professionals, and community members to be part of this vital conversation, as SAET continues committed to resilient housing futures.
