UF Landscape Attends 2026 ASLA Florida Conference + Expo
Students, faculty, and alumni from the University of Florida Department of Landscape Architecture recently attended the 2026 American Society of Landscape Architects – Florida Chapter Conference + Expo, held July 15-17 in Orlando. The conference brought together landscape architecture students, practitioners, and researchers from across the state to share their work, present research, and discuss the latest advancements in the world of landscape architecture.
The conference gave students the opportunity to meet and collaborate with practitioners from a variety of firms and organizations, giving them a chance to hear first-hand about the latest trends in the field and network with the leading landscape architects in Florida.
Students and faculty from the department were also honored with Design Awards during the conference.
Students Design Award Recipients:
- Hayden Germanis – “A Ground for Change: Regenerating Cultural Landscapes on Pine Island” – Award of Merit. Faculty Advisor: Dr. Jules Bruck
- Amaia Morgan & Andrea Herrera – “La Raíz (The Root): A Hispanic-Latino Center In Gainesville, Florida” – Award of Merit. Faculty Advisor: Alpa Nawre
- Emily Pritchard & Elizabeth Dorward – “Rooted Support: Breaking the Cycle of Family Housing Insecurity” – Faculty Advisor: Alpa Nawre
- Desi Roch-Hernandez – “The Invisible Meadow: A Perceptive Approach to Seagrass Restoration” – Award of Honor. Faculty Advisor: Dr. Yi Luo
- Marc Grossberg & Veronica Cancio Amadeo – “Leveraging Heterogeneity: Towards Bio-Receptive Landscapes” – Award of Excellence. Faculty Advisor: Aishwarya Shankar
Design Award Recipient:
- UF Department of Landscape Architecture – “Resilient Cedar Key: A Model Adaptation Plan for Action” – Award of Honor.
