Climate Adaptation and Resilience

A long storm surge barrier with white pillars stretches across a body of water under a clear blue sky, with rocky shorelines in the foreground.

We assess how communities, infrastructure, and transportation systems are affected by sea-level rise, hurricanes, flooding, extreme precipitation, and other climate hazards. Our research combines vulnerability and risk assessment with adaptation planning, land-use analysis, scenario development, and resilience strategies.

We aim to provide research, data, and planning approaches that help communities better understand future risks and evaluate adaptation options. Our goal is to support practical, evidence-based strategies that reduce vulnerability and strengthen long-term community resilience.

A person in a yellow shirt wades through deep floodwater on a road, with traffic signs and barriers visible and red traffic lights in the background.
Two signs on a sandy beach read 2030 sea level and 2050 sea level, with the ocean and blue sky in the background, illustrating rising sea levels over time.
