Minor"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\" class=\"stk-highlight\">The purpose of the graduate minor is to allow students from other related disciplines to learn about the basics of the Urban and Regional Planning profession.\u00a0 Within the minor we are attempting to expose students from other disciplines to the breadth of planning as well as the core of the program.\u00a0 With these goals in mind, the students shall meet the following requirements for the minor.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Each student would be required to take a total of three 3-credit planning courses for a total of 9 credits of Urban and Regional Planning courses.\u00a0 These courses must be distributed across the curriculum in the following manner:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Course Requirements<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\" class=\"stk-highlight\">3 Credits: Required Course (Core)<br>URP6100 \u2013 Planning Theory and History<br>6 Credits: Any Two of the Following Courses (Each Course 3 Credits)<br>URP6042 \u2013 Urban Economy<br>URP6061 \u2013 Planning Administration and Ethics<br>URP6131 \u2013 Land Use Planning Law<br>URP6270 \u2013 Introduction to Planning Information Systems<br>URP6421 \u2013 Environmental Land Use Planning &amp; Management<br>URP6541 \u2013 Economic Development Planning<br>URP6542 \u2013 Urban Land Economics<br>URP6646 &#8211; International Perspective in Urban and Regional Planning \u00a0<br>URP6716 \u2013 Transportation Policy and Planning<br>URP6745 \u2013 Housing, Public Policy, and Planning<br>URP6821 \u2013 Transportation and Land Use Modeling<br>URP6871 \u2013 Planning and Design I<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Further, the student\u2019s supervisory committee for a master\u2019s degree with or without a thesis must include one Graduate Faculty member from the Department of Urban and
