Dr. Abdol Chini is Professor Emeritus and former Associate Dean at the University of Florida\u2019s College of Design, Construction and Planning (DCP), where he left a lasting legacy of leadership, collaboration, and innovation. Originally from Shiraz, Iran, Dr. Chini earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in civil engineering from the University of Tehran and began his career managing large-scale infrastructure projects in Iran. Following the 1979 Iranian Revolution, he moved to the United States to continue his education, earning a master\u2019s degree in structural engineering from The George Washington University and a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland at College Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Chini began his academic career at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, where his involvement with the Associated Schools of Construction led to a pivotal connection with the University of Florida\u2019s M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management. He joined the Rinker School in 1994, rising to become Director in 2003. Under his leadership, the school expanded its graduate programs, enhanced international partnerships, and advanced the level of national and international distinction, including the development of Rinker Hall\u2014the first LEED Gold-certified building on the UF campus and in the state of Florida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Associate Dean of DCP, Dr. Chini broadened his impact, guiding cross-disciplinary initiatives and playing a central role in the development of the $45 million Bruno E. and Maritza F. Ramos Collaboratory. His efforts helped unify the college under a \u201cOneDCP\u201d mindset, fostering a culture of collaboration and shared opportunity among faculty and students alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Chini was known not only for his administrative accomplishments but also for his commitment to mentorship, academic excellence, and innovation in construction education. In retirement, he remains an influential figure in the field, fondly remembered for his leadership and dedication to the growth of future professionals.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Since becoming President of Stiles Construction in 1994, Tim Moore has been the driving force behind the company\u2019s extraordinary growth and enduring reputation as Florida\u2019s Relationship Builder<\/em><\/strong>. Under his leadership, Stiles Construction has completed more than 500 projects totaling over $4.5 billion and 50 million square feet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 1983 honors graduate of the University of Florida\u2019s M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management, Tim began his career at Stiles immediately after graduation. His four-decade tenure\u201430+ of those years as President\u2014is a testament to his character, dedication, and the strong foundation he received at UF. He is a lifetime member of the UF Alumni Association and has remained an active supporter of the Rinker School, contributing financially, sponsoring interns, speaking at events, and collaborating with faculty, including early brainstorming sessions with Dr. Charles Kibert on the development of LEED and sustainable building practices. Stiles has also hosted student site visits and regularly participates in Rinker career fairs under Tim\u2019s leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 1994, Stiles Construction has seen an eightfold increase in net billings and doubled its workforce. More notably, 20% of current employees have been with the company for over 20 years, an exceptional indicator of the strong culture and leadership Tim fosters. His steady hand has guided the company through two economic recessions and the COVID-19 pandemic, emerging stronger and more agile each time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Certified General Contractor, Tim has served as Past President of both the local and state chapters of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC).  He has also lent his leadership to numerous nonprofit organizations, including Covenant House Florida, Hope Pregnancy Center, and Sheridan House Family Ministries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A devoted family man and principled servant leader, Mr. Moore is widely respected for his integrity, leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence.
