Construction Management

My research interest lies broadly in the area of data sensing, simulations, BIM, and risk management. More specifically, during my doctoral studies I am working on A Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) Approach to Planning and Operation of Mobile Cranes. This work contributes to CPS technology by developing tools for (a) planning for construction operations while accounting for safety hazards through simulation, (b) estimating and providing analytics on the state of the equipment, (c) methods of monitoring equipment surrounding the operating environment including detection of safety hazards, and proximity analysis to dynamic resources including materials, equipment, and workers, (d) controlling crane stability in real-time; and (e) providing feedback to the user and equipment operators in the form of visual and haptic cues.
