FIBER to Host Four Towns Across Florida to Discuss Resiliency

The Florida Institute for Built Environment Resilience (FIBER) at the University of Florida is excited to announce the Interdisciplinary Urban Design for a Resilient Future workshop will be hosted on UF’s campus in Gainesville at the John and Anne Sofarelli Family Gallery at Antevy Hall May 22 and 23.

Four cities across Florida – Perry, Micanopy, Crystal River, and St. Pete Beach – represented by their official electives and city managers and planners will join FIBER and DCP faculty to reflect on resiliency and explore potential solutions to the challenges they face.

Each city will bring a case study to discuss at the workshop. The cases span from workforce housing intersecting with stormwater management, community redevelopment, green and gray infrastructure resilience adaptation, and public buildings resilience.

The “Interdisciplinary Urban Design for a Resilient Future” program is made possible through the generous support of the Duke Energy Foundation.
