DCP Takes Over Orlando - Published on August 29, 2019
The College of Design, Construction and Planning definitely made its presence felt all across Orlando during the Florida-Miami game weekend, thanks to our sponsors Action Equipment, Stellar and J. Raymond Construction.
Festivities kicked off Friday night as Sister Hazel band members and former DCP students Drew Copeland (construction management) and Jett Beres (architecture) invited some of the DCP family to a meet and greet before their show. The band played the House of Blues in Orlando later that night and put on an amazing performance as always.
The next day, DCP had their own special area inside the Gator Nation Headquarters at the Dr. Phillips Center in Orlando. Alums were treated to great food and drinks, including a Cuban pig roast and our signature drink for the event, the Gator Mule. Then they got hyped for the game during the Gators vs. Miami pep rally featuring the Gator band, cheerleaders and even Coach Spurrier and former players.
“Hosting over 400 DCP Alumni in Orlando within a 36 hour stretch just shows the momentum DCP has right now with our graduates,” Senior Director of Advancement Seth Watts said. “Our alumni understand just what it means to be a family and a part of the Gator Nation.”
The weekend ended with a sloppy but thrilling victory by the Gator football team. Thank you to all our alumni who attended the events this weekend and we hope to see you at our Homecoming Tailgate on Oct. 5 here at the Architecture Building on campus.
