Stone, Jr. Lecture Series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-medium-font-size\">The Gainesville Chapter of Florida ASLA and the Student Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (SCASLA) helped to organize the event which saw an excellent turnout that included a mix of students, faculty, and practitioners in attendance. Stone, Jr. Lecture Series has been a key part of the University of Florida\u2019s Landscape Architecture program, fostering intellectual conversation and engagement with practitioners for the past decade. Since its inception in 2015, the series has brought leading voices in landscape architecture and urban design to share their insights and experiences with students, faculty, and professionals.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-medium-font-size\">Edward Stone, Jr., the lecture series\u2019 namesake, founded the renowned firm EDSA (Edward Durell Stone Jr. and Associates), which has helped shape the practice of landscape architecture in Florida and around the globe. EDSA\u2019s work spans urban design, parks and public projects, hospitality and tourism, campus planning, as well as commercial and mixed-use development. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-medium-font-size\">Over the years, the firm has been a strong supporter of the department, reinforcing its commitment to the next generation of landscape Construction and Planning (DCP) at the University of Florida are excited to share news of a 3-year, $750,000 grant from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) Gulf Research Program (GRP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-medium-font-size\">The NASEM GRP grant was awarded to an interdisciplinary team across DCP including Jeff Carney (Associate Professor, Architecture and Director of the FIBER), Andrea Galinski (Assistant Professor, Landscape Architecture), Kyle Dost (Instructional Assistant Professor, Urban and Regional Planning and Director, MURP Online Program), Christian Calle (Assistant Scholar, Architecture), and Carla Brisotto (Assistant Scholar, Architecture, and Assistant Director of the FIBER).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-medium-font-size\">Through the grant, faculty will build on a two-year pilot of GulfSouth Studio (GSS) program, which supports educational initiatives that help
