She is also a research affiliate with the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/experience.arcgis.com\/experience\/1197f939390c47989a491cc91a321b1d\">UF Shimberg Center for Housing Studies<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dcp.ufl.edu\/fiber\/\">Florida Institute for Built Environment Resilience<\/a>&nbsp;(FIBER).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-8f4bc3f32f2b045e94e748122d22786e\"><strong>Andrea\u2019s passion is to advance climate resilient design and planning in teaching and research. She teaches foundational coursework and interdisciplinary design studios with a concentration on issues of climate change, equity, and other critical topics.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Andrea\u2019s research explores the nexus between climate change and affordable housing. Her research has been supported by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine Gulf Research Program (NASEM GRP), National Science Foundation (NSF), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Florida Sea Grant (FSG), Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), Florida Housing Finance Corporation (FHFC), and others.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-72c9135e4e0ea601a1fbca7c72179f59\"><strong>Previously, Andrea worked in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/coastal.la.gov\/about\/\">Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority<\/a>&nbsp;(CPRA) to develop the state\u2019s 50 year\/$50 billion&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/coastal.la.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/230531_CPRA_MP_Final-for-web_spreads.pdf\">Coastal Master Plan<\/a>&nbsp;to protect and restore the coast in the context of a changing climate. She also taught at Louisiana State University (LSU) focusing on research-based design of landscape infrastructure along the Louisiana coast.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-c7e97517f2708cef77375c5024220358\"><strong>Andrea holds a Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) from Louisiana State University\u2019s Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture. She has transdisciplinary Bachelor of Philosophy (B.Ph.) degree in \u201cHuman Ecology\u201d from Penn State University.
