This fee is set by the University of Florida Graduate School and must be paid online by credit card through the application portal. The fee cannot be waived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">Statement of Purpose<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:0;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30)\">Submit a statement describing your motivation for pursuing the Master of Interior Design degree at the University of Florida. Your statement should:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40)\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Identify your intended area of specialization<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Explain how your interests align with the research or teaching areas of our faculty<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Outline your academic and\/or professional goals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants are encouraged to review <a href=\"https:\/\/dcp.ufl.edu\/interior\/faculty-expertise\/\"><strong>Faculty Research Areas<\/strong><\/a> prior to submission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">Transcripts<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:0;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30)\">Applicants must provide transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended (excluding the University of Florida).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40)\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For application review: Unofficial transcripts are acceptable<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If admitted: Official transcripts will be required by the Graduate School<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A recognized baccalaureate, graduate, or professional degree is required, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for applicants with a bachelor\u2019s degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Portfolio (Design Track Consideration)<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:0;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30)\">A portfolio is required for applicants with a design-related background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:0;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30)\">Applicants who wish to be considered for the Design Track must submit a portfolio demonstrating their design skills and experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40)\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>No specific format or number of projects is required<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Portfolios may be uploaded through the application system or shared via email to <a href=\"mailto:mmatckie@ufl.edu\"><strong>mmatckie@ufl.edu<\/strong><\/a> or via WeTransfer if the file size exceeds application upload limits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong><strong>Letters of Recommendation<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:0;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30)\">Two letters of recommendation are required. Applications will not be considered complete until both letters are received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60)\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Letters should be submitted electronically through the application system<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recommenders should be able to speak to your academic ability, professional experience, and\/or potential for graduate study<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">Additional Requirements for International Applicants<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Official transcripts in the original language<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Certified, literal (word-for-word) English translations (if applicable)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copies of diplomas or degree certificates<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">English Proficiency<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:0;margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30)\">Applicants whose native language is not English must submit valid English proficiency scores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:0;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30)\">Minimum scores:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40)\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>TOEFL:<\/strong> 80\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use school code 5812<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scores must be sent electronically by ETS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The University of Florida does not accept paper or unofficial TOEFL scores<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>IELTS:<\/strong> 6.0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>MELAB:<\/strong> 77<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All scores must be sent directly to the University of Florida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">Application Deadlines<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:0;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30)\">The course sequencing is designed for students to begin in the <strong>fall<\/strong> semester. Applicants who are able to begin their studies in the summer may instead select the <strong>summer<\/strong> term when submitting their application. Applications mistakenly submitted for spring admission will automatically be moved to the next available admission term.
