DCP Department of Interior Design And The Agency Win A Competitive $70k Grant From ASID
The University of Florida College of Design, Construction and Planning (DCP) and The Agency, housed within the UF College of Journalism and Communications, were awarded $70,000 from the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) to investigate an emerging typology of educational space, the mixed-use learning zone that engages millennial generations of students outside the standard classroom model.

Jae Hwa Lee, under direction of Meg Portillo, receives the prestigious JID Graduate Scholar Award for Developing Creative Minds: Lessons from First Year University Students at the 2017 Interior Designer Educators Council annual conference held in Chicago.

Margaret Portillo Named Fellow By IDEC
Margaret Portillo, professor and chair of the Department of Interior Design, was named to the Council of Fellows by the Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC) at the organization’s annual national conference on March 14.
According to John Turpin, current president of IDEC, “Dr. Portillo is an exemplar of our interior design community.”
