Who We Are<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

iAdapt is an interdisciplinary research center at the University of Florida. Our community brings together internationally recognized scholars, planning practitioners, and doctoral, master\u2019s, and undergraduate students. Supported by national and state funded research grants, our work connects academic research with real-world planning challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our mission is to advance Urban Planning AI, design equitable and resilient transportation systems, and develop actionable strategies for climate adaptation. Urban Planning AI<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

We investigate how AI can collaborate with planners, support plan-making and decision-making, and facilitate responsible planning automation. Our research also examines human\u2013AI interaction and develops governance frameworks for transparent, accountable, and effective Urban Planning AI.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Advanced Urban Mobility<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

We study emerging transportation systems\u2014including microtransit, micromobility, electrification, ridesourcing, public transit, and autonomous vehicles\u2014and their effects on travel behavior, accessibility, and urban development. We also use AI-driven methods to evaluate the performance and resilience of mobility systems under climate hazards.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Climate Adaptation and Resilience<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

We assess the vulnerability of communities and infrastructure to sea-level rise, hurricanes, extreme precipitation, and other climate hazards. We develop practical strategies for climate action, land-use planning, managed relocation, and long-term community resilience.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dissemination & Outreach<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We translate research into practical knowledge and resources for communities, planning professionals, and policymakers through:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
