Gainesville Modern

The Historic Preservation Program has an ongoing partnership with Gainesville Modern – a local non-profit advocacy group – to assist with documenting the mid-century buildings and places of Gainesville, Florida. This collaboration includes a number of initiatives and activities:

Gainesville Mid-century Weekend featuring the Gainesville Mid-century Modern Home Tour: The next weekend and tour are April 13-15, 2018. Visit www.gainesvillemodern.org to learn more.

Gainesville Mid-century Survey (1930-1975): Thanks to a grant from the Florida Division of Historical Resources, the Historic Preservation Program is partnering with the City of Gainesville Department of Doing and Gainesville Modern to document buildings and sites constructed between 1930 and 1975.

Gainesville Modern Archives: Gathered through surveys and research, information on the City’s mid-century buildings and history is housed at the Gainesville Modern Archive, part of the University of Florida Architecture Archives Collections: http://ufdc.ufl.edu/modern/all.
