Applicants can choose between three distinct<strong> <\/strong>Graduate Certificate<strong> <\/strong>Tracks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left has-ast-global-color-8-color has-ast-global-color-4-background-color has-text-color has-background\" style=\"padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20);padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--20);line-height:1.4\"><strong>GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40)\">\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color\"><strong>OVERVIEW<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color\">The 25-credit hour<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Architecture&nbsp;is a post-professional graduate certificate focused on social, ecological, and environmental issues related to resilient and regenerative planning and urbanism involving design, technology, public policy, and the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color\">The Graduate Certificate provides working professionals with the opportunity to add expertise and a deeper understanding of the positive impact of sustainable policy, development &amp; planning on the built environment, natural systems, and society with an emphasis on urbanism and the future of cities confronting twenty-first century environmental, social, and economic challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color\">The degree welcomes applications from both research and practice-oriented candidates and will prepare students for careers as sustainability experts in design, construction, real estate, and corporate firms; as resilience officers, and other sustainability roles in government; academia; and not-for-profit organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color\"><strong>DEADLINES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color\">Applicants to the Graduate Certificate degree are reviewed application twice yearly. Please submit all application materials by&nbsp;<strong>March 1st&nbsp;<\/strong>to be considered for the fall semester, or by&nbsp;<strong>October 1st<\/strong>&nbsp;to be considered for admission in the following spring semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color\">We will consider late applications received after these deadlines only on a space-available basis.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40)\">\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color\"><strong>REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color\">In addition to the application materials required by UF Graduate School, Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Architecture applicants should send the following items to the School of Architecture using the address provided below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-2b211fc2d134237079d9e89b8b7f8b19\"><strong>Portfolio<\/strong>: Applicants should prepare a digital portfolio of previous design studio work, independent projects, and\/or related creative work. Applicants who have completed pre-professional degrees and are seeking admission into the Sustainable Architecture program should use your portfolio to demonstrate strength in conceptual design, critical thinking, and understanding of architectural conventions (including plan, section, elevation, three-dimensional diagrams, renderings, physical models, etc.). The portfolio is limited to ten (10) 2-page spreads. The preferred page size is 8 \u00bd\u201d x 11\u201d and the file should be saved as in pdf format small enough to be sent as an email attachment.
