Prospective Students

Admissions

Admission to the College of DCP is selective and is not guaranteed automatically to applicants who satisfy minimum requirements. The college established a selective admission process with priority given to those applicants who, in the judgment of the appropriate academic unit’s admissions committee, have the greatest potential for successful completion of the program.

The first step is to pick which school/department you’d like to join. There are six units within our college, each with its own culture and research focus: the School of Architecture, the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Building Construction, the Departments of Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning, and the DCP Doctoral Program.

Four of our academic units offer bachelor’s degrees and all offer graduate degrees. Undergraduate admissions are handled directly with the UF Office of Admissions. The graduate admission process, on the other hand, involves two offices, the UF Office of Admission and a school or department.

Graduate Admissions

Admissions into our master’s and doctorate programs are done primarily at the school/department level. The academic units are responsible for all admissions decisions. Prospective graduates have specific admission requirements and application deadlines that vary by academic unit. To be admitted to graduate study in a given academic unit, the prospective student must satisfy the requirements of the unit as well as those of the Graduate School. Admission to some programs is limited by the resources available.
