Flood, Thompson named DCP International Educator of the Year
November 22, 2010 – Ian Flood, associate professor of building construction, and Kevin Thompson, assistant professor of landscape architecture, both were recently named DCP International Educator of the Year for 2010, an honor that recognizes outstanding international endeavors by faculty and staff.
Both Flood and Thompson have gone above and beyond the normal call of duty in their efforts to bring a global perspective onto campus by successfully integrating teaching, research and service learning initiatives.
Thompson keynotes International Seminar on University and Industry Collaboration in Bali
September 23, 2010 – Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture Kevin Thompson was an invited keynote speaker at the “International Seminar on University and Industry Collaboration: Developing Creativity to Build Self-Reliance,” in Denpasar, Bali this past July. Professor Thompson’s talk, titled “Reciprocal Manfaat: menjaga komunitas Bali lanskap warisan melalui langkah-langkah perencanaan ketahanan pangan” detailed steps in planning for Bali’s food security and community heritage landscape preservation with a vision towards reaching organic self-reliance by the year 2025.

UF’s Landscape Architecture program ranks 14th among nation’s best design schools
November 24, 2009 – The University of Florida undergraduate program in landscape architecture was ranked 14th in DesignIntelligence’s 11th annual America’s Best Architecture & Design Schools 2010 survey. The landscape architecture program was also named one of America’s World-Class Landscape Architecture Schools by DesignIntelligence’s Cramer Report, receiving the merit “with high distinction.”
UF interior design, landscape architecture programs rank nationally
January 29, 2009 – The College’s graduate program in interior design was ranked 10th in DesignIntelligence’s 10th annual America’s Best Architecture & Design Schools 2009 survey. The undergraduate program in landscape architecture was ranked 14th.
Schnadelbach and Obonyo win DCP International Educator awards
November 19, 2008 – The University of Florida International Center awarded landscape architecture professor Terry Schnadelbach and building construction assistant professor Esther Obonyo the 2008 International Educator Award for the College of Design, Construction and Planning for senior and junior faculty, respectively.
2008 Witters Competition Tackles Sustainable Post-Disaster Housing
April 11, 2008 – During the weekend of March 28, five teams of students in the University of Florida College of Design, Construction and Planning competed to create the best design for sustainable post-disaster housing for the 2008 Witters Competition.
