Nam-Kyu Park, LEED accredited professional and NCIDQ certified interior designer, joined the faculty of the Department of Interior Design in 2007. Previously, Dr. Park was on the faculty at Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI. Her teaching experience centers on design studio focused on retail and office environments, interior lighting design, environmental systems, and interior design detailing. Her principle areas of research address lighting perceptions and behaviors in service environments, environmental and social sustainability, and environmental design and human spatial behavior. She also has interest in the cultural impact on design, including cross-cultural differences in lighting preference and cross-cultural issues in residential design. Her research work has been presented at a numerous international and national conferences and published in several scholarly journals.
